OCR: Dominant plant life in the Chihuahuan desert includes the Creosote Bush and Tarbush as well as Mariola - an aromatic leaved shrub. A characteristic form of vegetation found in this area is the Lechuguilla, an agave plant (see the chapter 'Desert plant life') whose fibers are used for baskets, ropes and sandals. More plant varieties are found in the warmer southern reaches of this desert.
